What is Hosting ?

Application Support Provision (also known as "ASP" and "Hosting") is a very important emerging technology. It is not a new thing, but until only recently it has been prohibitively expensive for the Small / Medium Business to make realistic, economical use of.

ASP allows you to have all your applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and your information, stored at a remote site on a Windows Terminal Server. NOTHING needs to be stored on the local machine, apart from a single icon to launch the Hosted Service.

Data Centres typically have robotic tape drive facilities costing upwards of £7,000, and online network hard drives starting from upwards of £35,000.		It is easy to work - anywhere. Because the data is not stored at ANY one site, each of your key locations has equal billing when it comes to access, and because the data is centrally administered, it is easy to make changes to the whole business via the one location.
