Laptops and Broadband have ushered in a new era to the business world.  This potent combination allows users that would usually work in the office work, to work just as effectively from home.  There are several ways of working from home and these include:-
Working Offline : by this method a user would store files on their laptop and take the data or file they are working on home with them.  This is a great way of working as it allows you to work in quiet time so as to concentrate on that ever important presentation or sales pitch!  Upon returning to the office, the data on the laptop can be re-synchronised with the server in just a few seconds.
 
Technical Server : this is a system whereby the main office has a Microsoft Server is situated and allows the user to connect to the office via a secure connection.  This is the most popular (but most expensive) set up and even gives you access to all files you would get in the office environment and also email and associated calendar and contacts.  The benefits are that you can quite literally work from anywhere in the world - all you need is to have an internet connection and a PC or laptop, in some cases even a handheld device will be good enough!
